Mercedes-Benz (OTC: MBGAF ) Group AG has revealed a new electric hypercar concept featuring revolutionary technology that will be implemented in production vehicles starting next year.
The Concept AMG GT XX showcases an innovative drivetrain with three axial flux motors that deliver a peak output of over 1,341 hp and can reach speeds of over 223 mph. This technology will enter series production at Mercedes-AMG in 2026.

The vehicle features a high-performance battery with direct-cooled cylindrical cells, which enable excellent sustained performance and ultra-fast charging capabilities. Users can charge a range of approximately 400 km in just five minutes.
“The Concept AMG GT XX is the next milestone in AMG’s history and establishes a new dimension of performance,” said Michael Schiebe, CEO of Mercedes-AMG GmbH.
Axial flux motors represent a major advancement over conventional electric motors, being more compact, lighter and more powerful. They weigh approximately two-thirds less and occupy only one-third the space of conventional motors, while delivering three times the power density.

The high voltage battery system operates at over 800 volts and includes intelligent direct cooling for the individual cells. This design allows for a very high average charging power of over 850 kilowatts at 1,000 amps over most of the charging curve.

The vehicle achieves a drag coefficient of cd=0.198 despite its wide high-performance tires, thanks to aerodynamic innovations. These include active aero wheels with moving blades that optimize both brake cooling and efficiency.
Biotechnology-based materials have been used inside the hypercar, including a leather alternative developed with US biodesign startup Modern Meadow, which uses recycled rubber from AMG GT3 racing tyres.
The four-door coupe will be the first series-production model built on the AMG.EA high performance architecture, available to customers from 2026.
