Indkal Technologies has recently launched its first smartphone Acer ZX. This phone has a better display and MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor, which supports 5G connectivity. The design of the phone is simple and the build quality is decent.
It is believed that the biggest battle of smartphones is fought in the flagship segment. In reality, the fight is not there, but in the budget segment. This is the ground where every brand has to offer something keeping in mind the pocket and expectations of the customer, on which the customer is ready to spend his capital. These thoughts were going on in my mind when I started unboxing the Acer ZX smartphone.
Acer is a well-known name in the laptop industry, which has sold its brand license for phones and TV to Indkal Technologies. That is, this phone is not made by Acer but by a startup in Bangalore. I am sharing my real life experience with you about this phone. Before starting the review, let me tell you that my review unit of Acer’s first smartphone Acer ZX has 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. Its price is Rs 11,999. Its base variant with 4 GB RAM and 128 GB storage is available for Rs 9,999.

Unboxing and in-hand feel
The thing I liked while unboxing the phone was that the company has taken care to offer a budget phone and not burden the customer with buying a separate charger or cover. Some premium companies should learn from this. In the box, the phone comes with a transparent cover, Type C to C cable for charging and a 33W charger. The brand has paid a lot of attention to the accessories that come in the box with its first smartphone.

The charging cable that comes with the phone is braided, which means it will not break easily. A screen protector comes pre-applied on the phone. This means you don’t have to worry about applying tempered glass as soon as you take the phone out of the box. The phone doesn’t feel bad in the hand. I found the in-hand feel of Acer ZX to be fine in the budget of Rs 10,000.
Display, Design and Build Quality
The design of Acer ZX is very simple. The design and build quality is not bad considering the budget in which this phone comes. Those who like simple and sober design may like Acer ZX. This phone comes with a plastic build. The company has not done anything different in the build or design of the phone, which is worth discussing. The fingerprint sensor is given in the power button on the right side. The phone also has a headphone jack.

The display of Acer ZX is its strong point. It has a 6.78 inch Full HD Plus IPS LCD display. It supports a refresh rate of 120Hz. Like most phones in this budget, there is a chin at the bottom of the display. The phone’s display is clearly visible even in sunlight. I believe that a common user will not have any problem with the display.
Performance and Software
The Acer ZX smartphone has a Mediatek Dimensity 6300 processor. It supports 5G mobile connectivity. I found the performance of the phone to be decent. During use, sometimes frame drops and lag problems were seen, although this happened only 2 times out of 10. The storage capacity of the phone is decent. It comes in 128GB storage and 4/6/8GB RAM variants. Due to the software, using this phone was better than other smartphones in the same budget.
The company is calling the operating system of this phone as Google Certified Android 15 OS. Its OS is similar to Google’s stock Android. Because of this it does not feel heavy to use. There are many such phones in this budget, which start hanging badly in a short time due to heavy skin. Looking at its storage capacity and stock Android OS, I think this phone will be able to give a smooth experience to its users for a long time.
Camera Performance
Acer ZX smartphone has a 64 MP main camera. Apart from this, 2-2MP macro and depth cameras are provided. During the day, the phone takes decent photos with its main camera.
However, these pictures have enough detail. The other two cameras are average.
The phone has a 13MP front camera. The details in the selfies taken with it are average. If the phone’s camera could do processing at the software level, better selfies could have been taken.
Another thing is that phones of this budget are bought for the overall experience of the camera. In this regard, the camera can also be called decent.
Battery performance and backup
This phone has a 5000mAh battery, which will easily give a normal user a backup of one to one and a half days. It gets charged 50% in 30 minutes with its charger. It takes about 1 hour for the phone to charge from 0 to 100%.
Our verdict
If you are looking for a phone in the budget of 10 thousand, which comes with a simple design and OS like stock Android, then you can go for this phone. While buying Acer ZX, do keep in mind that even though the phone has three cameras on the back, the main camera is the best. If you don’t have any problem with a new smartphone brand and an average camera, then it will not disappoint in other respects. I give it 3 stars out of 5.
