Honda CB1000 Hornet SP launched in India: Honda has launched its new powerful street naked bike Honda CB1000 Hornet SP in the Indian market. This bike belongs to the liter-class category and its ex-showroom price has been kept at Rs 12.35 lakh. This model is one level above Honda’s already existing Hornet 750, which has been introduced in India with it. The company has said that the booking of this motorcycle has started across the country from today (May 23, 2025). At the same time, its first delivery will start from June 2025. This bike will be sold only through Honda’s premium dealership network, i.e. BigWing dealership.

From controls to braking system

Talking about the design and technical structure of the bike, the CB1000 Hornet SP is built on a strong twin-spar frame that gives better stability and control in high-speed riding. The suspension system has Showa’s SFF-BP inverted fork at the front.

At the rear, Ohlins’ new TTX36 unit has been installed. This makes the bike’s ride quality great – no matter what the road is like. The braking system is also great – 310 mm dual Brembo radial calipers have been provided in the front and 240 mm disc brakes in the rear. Along with this, dual-channel ABS is available as standard, which is a big plus point in terms of safety.

Equipped with many new features

The electronics and features of the bike have also been made very modern and full of technology. It has a 5-inch TFT digital instrument display, which shows all the necessary information to the rider in a clear and smart way. The bike has a Honda Selectable Torque Control feature, which prevents the bike from slipping.

Apart from this, a bi-directional quickshifter also comes standard which makes gear shifting smooth and fast. There is also an emergency stop signal, which informs the vehicles coming behind in case of sudden braking. The bike has a total of five riding modes – Sport, Standard, Rain, and two custom modes, through which the rider can set the performance according to his needs and road conditions.

How strong is the engine?

If we talk about the engine, the Honda CB1000 Hornet SP has a 999cc, liquid-cooled, inline-four, DOHC engine, which is based on 16 valve and 4 stroke technology. This engine is very smooth and powerful which is capable of giving fast acceleration and excellent top speed. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and also has an assist and slipper clutch. This makes the clutch operation light and the bike remains in control during hard braking.

Better for whom?

Honda has not only introduced this bike as a stylish street fighter, but has also made it a strong contender in the liter-class category through its performance, technology and features. Its price makes it a better option than many other bikes. For riders who are looking for a high-performance and tech-loaded bike, this can prove to be a great option.
