The OnePlus 13T is going to launch in China soon. So soon that it is likely that by the time you read this report, it will have been launched. But that’s okay. The 13T, which is confirmed to be a compact phone with all the features of a high-end flagship,
is not launching anywhere else right now. But there is a possibility that it may not be limited to China for long. It may come to India and maybe other markets as well very soon. Whether it is like this or in some other form remains to be seen.
OnePlus 13T What was special in the survey?
Recently, OnePlus conducted a survey among its select users in India, asking them for their opinions about upcoming smartphone features, pricing, and preferences. Interestingly, the questions asked in this survey indicated that the launch of OnePlus 13T in the Indian market can be considered almost certain.
The survey specifically focused on the features that can be offered in OnePlus 13T, such as:
- Better camera quality
- Strong battery life
- Latest Snapdragon processor
- Premium design and build quality
Before we get into how we found this out, we would like to clarify that there is no official confirmation from OnePlus on when and where the OnePlus 13T will launch globally, including in India. But OnePlus has carried out a new survey on the demand for compact phones with flagship features in India,

which hints at what could be the start of a full-blown marketing campaign for this (or maybe some other phone, we don’t know yet), the kind we associate with big-ticket smartphone launches these days.
This survey, conducted by research firm Counterpoint, aims to find out if customers in India want a compact smartphone in 2025 and if yes, what their most basic need is in terms of specs and features. Obviously, they want to. The report is long and full of jargon, but here’s the gist you should really care about:
74 percent of Indian users prefer compact smartphones.
68 percent of people say there are no good compact phones available in the market at the time of writing.
More than 50 percent will not compromise on performance or battery life, even in a smaller phone.
Compact ideally means 6.5 inches. 55 percent of people say they want smaller phones because of the ease of use with one hand.
Apple, Samsung, and OnePlus are the top brands people trust for compact phones.
88 percent of people would buy a compact phone if it had high-end features.

OnePlus would have you believe that the OnePlus 13T Pro or 13T is the answer to all your compact phone needs. We know it could be, given its awesome hardware. In fact, the specs reveal that it’s nothing but a smaller OnePlus 13T. OnePlus has put the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite into a chassis that has just 6.32-inches of screen real estate (the OnePlus 13, at 6.82-inches, is “huge” in comparison) and, somehow, managed to squeeze a 6260 mAh battery inside it (which is 260 mAh larger than the 13’s), presumably using silicon-carbon technology.
