For the past few days, it is being speculated that Suzuki Cervo 2025 can be launched but no correct answer is being found. This car was discontinued in the international market in 2009 and now news is coming that this car can make a comeback which is just a rumor. In such a situation, there is no doubt that Suzuki Servo will not be launched in India.
Servo is the smallest passenger car which comes in the ‘KEI‘ segment in Japan. While sub 4 meter cars are given tax exemption in India, in Japan the length of KEI cars is 3400 millimeters, whose width, height and engine displacement are kept limited. These cars get many types of discounts, which makes them quite affordable. These cars are easy to drive and park in the city.

The Servo first debuted in October 1977 with a 550cc 2-stroke engine and Suzuki launched the new generation Servo in November 2006. The Servo was to be launched in India as a replacement for the iconic Maruti 800, following which there were rumours of it being launched here but that never happened.

There can be more than one reason for this car not being launched in India, but it can be assumed that it could not be launched here due to high competition. The original model of Servo had a 660 cc engine and its length was less than 3400 mm.
Suzuki Cervo 2025
It was a bit difficult to keep its price low compared to other popular cars, which would have affected its sales. Apart from this, it would have faced tough competition from Maruti’s own entry level cars. Therefore, Maruti decided not to launch it here. Talking about the year 2010, Maruti 800 was replaced by Maruti Alto.
Let us tell you that Maruti has always dominated the entry level hatchback car segment. In this segment, Maruti has cars of every budget, which include Alto, Wagon R, A Star, Ritz and Swift.

Today, sales of popular models of Maruti Suzuki like Alto, Wagon R and S Presso are falling. RC Bhargava, Chairman of Maruti Suzuki India Private Limited, expressed concern on the falling sales of the company’s small cars through a virtual press conference on 29 October 2024. The company never even hinted at launching the Servo here.
For the future, Maruti Suzuki will focus on its existing lineup in which it will offer more eco-friendly powertrain options including strong hybrid and all electric. Suzuki is even preparing new strong hybrid powertrains for its small and medium size cars like Swift, Francox and Brezza.
Apart from this, the company’s Grand Vitara Strong Hybrid Compact SUV has got very good sales figures since its launch and the company will also launch its first all-electric SUV by 2025.
